Tool #3

  1. I like Discovery Education and and Blinkx for finding science videos.  I think Discovery is an easier way to find video segments to use in class because it is fast to perform an advanced search.
  2. http://www.blinkx.com/videos/weathering%252C+erosion  or http://player.discoveryeducation.com/index.cfm?guidAssetId=6B1E329E-5A77-4B36-BFA9-1D307F75441C&blnFromSearch=1&productcode=US
  3. Teachers are pretty much able to use most of the material that is copyrighted if the benefit to society is greater than the benefit of the author.  If you add value to the copyrighted material, then you can use it.
  4. I would use this to have students search for pictures of content they are studying.  They could also take pictures during experiments, activities, or investigations and upload them for other groups to see and provide comments.
